OUR NAME:
Walker Strategies
WALKER:
Is derived from the old English word Wealcan, which means to walk or to tread. It was a step in woolen cloth making, where groups of people walked back and forth barefoot on unprocessed wool in a large vat containing a water mixture, in order to cleanse it from oils, dirt and other impurities. Ephesians 5:26
Typically known as a baby apparatus to help them learn to walk, or a tool to aid with balance when older or injured. One thing is for sure, they are invaluable tools in our life today.
The Walker Sermon notes assists your walk with God in the same way. Whether you're just starting your walk with God, or have been walking with The Lord for awhile, The Walker will help you draw near to God one step at a time.
STRATEGIES:
Ephesians 6:11
This verse encourages us to put on the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
The second part of our name is about bringing to light the strategies God has given us through his word, that not only help us succeed, but overcome the many obstacles we face in life.
Biblical Meditation is the first strategy that we are presenting in The Walker Sermon notes. In the first chapter of Joshua, Moses has just died and God is instructing Joshua on how to lead the children of Israel into the promise land.
In verse 8 God gave Joshua a specific strategy on how to have good success. This is the only place the word success is mentioned in the bible. (KJV)
We have broken this strategy down into Seven Simple Steps to help you get the most out of every sermon.
Nothing is difficult if you understand it. Proverbs 4:7 says in all thy getting, get understanding. Our goal at Walker Strategies is to simplify strategies and provide the tools to help carry them out.
OUR LOGO:
Inspired by a shadow of arms raised, signifies a "sign of surrender" or an S.O.S. To successfully walk with God is to surrender your life to His, daily.
OUR VISION:
Our vision is simple: to provide tools that help make disciples; for the perfecting of saints, for the work of the ministry and for the edifying of the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:12 If you have the right tool, the task becomes easier.
HOW THE WALKER CAME TO BE:
It all started with a small youth group of about 30 or so teenagers. When one day there was a complaint from the parents that their children were not growing in the Lord and were beginning to go astray.
As overseers of this group, we accepted the challenge, and within about 3 months created notebooks for every teenager in the group. (we called it The Monitor)
It had sheets to take sermon notes, a prayer list, a daily journal, a section for goals and many other features that helped us monitor and disciple them in a very productive way.
Years later we realized we had a concept that could be a blessing to the entire body of Christ, and thanks be to God, THE WALKER WAS BORN.
